Going to Africa

On Saturday the 26th of January 9 people will begin
a journey into the jungles of Gabon!

Vicky Machorro
Carrie Dyk
Elvin Dekoning
John Dyk
Rusty Gigstead
John Yoder
Gerald Hodson
Mark and Susie Greene

Our mission is to come along side the Christian Missionary Alliance (CMA) missionaries at the Bongolo Hospital in Gabon Africa. We will be working on the Quad-Plex (four apartment unit).

The time difference between the Pacific Time zone and Gabon is 9 hours ahead.

Prayer Requests
  1. That we would glorify Christ in everything that we do.
  2. Safe travel. To reach the jungle it will take 3 airplanes with 20 hours of air time and then a lovely ride through the jungle for a couple of hours! We should arrive at the hospital around dinner time on Monday, Bongolo time.
  3. That the time there would change us and renew in us the burden of reaching the unreached people groups for Jesus.

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Philippians 2:1-5

Our plan is to update this blog regularly, as we will have internet access available, if there isn't a huge storm that disrupts the lines! We will also post pictures.

I can see what happens to a person when he leaves the best city (Ellensburg) in washington to a place called Cloverland, he becomes a computer NUT instead of a farmer. Just want to thank you for all your work and time you have put into our trip. I am sure God will bless us and keep us safe.
